for every fashion lover

Don't Discard
Circulate
Shape the Future of Fashion

13 billion items of clothing are thrown away every year. We're here to change that.

Creating a world where every fashion lover can enjoy fashion even more

MODALAVA designs new circular systems for fashion, starting with the simple choice of "not throwing away." Through technology and creativity, we build a world where clothes are reborn and passed from person to person.

About MODALAVA

Circular Fashion,
for Everyone

Since our founding in 2017, we've been challenging the very structures that lead to clothing waste, guided by the ethos of "fashion without waste."

From "Open Closet," which merges flea market events with e-commerce, to "Codomegu," a kids' clothing subscription, and "atelier HIKITSUGI," a community that breathes new life into discarded materials — we take a multi-faceted approach to implementing fashion circulation.

Our Story

Clothes still worth wearing
are being thrown away

Over 13 billion garments are discarded in Japan each year. Clothes with so much life left simply disappear without reaching anyone — we set out to change this structure at its roots.

By redesigning the flow of fashion through technology and creativity, we transform "discard" into "circulate" — building a society where clothes are passed on across people and generations.
